A Fond Farewell

Posted on

It’s that time of year again.  Spring is coming, flowers are blooming, allergies are going nuts!  But this is also the time when us youngsters must wave goodbye to the seniors.

The Dayton Swing club did just that, throwing their seniors a spectacular bon voyage dance.  Balloon flowers and bunnies adorned the walls as we swung out to the sweet sounds of the UD Jazz Band.

As the night drew to a close, the seniors got their moment in the spotlight with a special dance.  As the seniors gathered in the middle of the dance floor, I was stunned to see just how many of my friends would be graduating.

And so, with this last bittersweet tour of the dance floor, we say farewell to not only the Dayton seniors, but to all of those who are graduating this year and starting their journeys in the real world.  I wish each and every one of you the absolute best of luck in whatever you choose to pursue in life.  I hope you remember this bond that we have forged through dancing, the times we shared and all the laughs we had.  But, more than anything, I hope to see you again in the future, even if it’s not on a dance floor.
